Fifth graders created a very detailed non-objective piece of artwork that required many steps and applied the elements of art and design. First was watercolor. Students used techniques such as splattering, blending, painting with water first, dry brush and blowing on a puddle of paint. Second was to cut apart the watercolor and glue it back down onto a longer sheet of paper. Next the 5th graders reconnected their watercolor drawing with pen and ink lines. Then the added textures in the new spaces between the watercolor panels.
