4th graders used a slab base, coils, and a pinch pot to create a clay shoe. They could make a boot, moccasin, dress shoe, sneaker, or anything else they could think of! After they were fired in the kiln, the students got to glaze them any color they wanted. Some finished shoes! Some proud sculptors!
Fourth graders pretended that they were on a ship looking through a porthole and discovered a new land. This is what the land looked like through the window. In progress... Finished projects!
Fourth graders chose a region of Virginia to inspire them for a cut paper collage. Students used cutting techniques like layering, punching, tearing, and overlapping. They also had to show depth some how in their picture with a foreground, middle ground, and background.
