Students learned many paper collage techniques to create their collages. They rolled a 3D tube, pleated wings, and tore clouds. They even cut their own circle moon starting with a large square and cutting off the corners first. Just in case you didn't get a chance to go to the Art Fest this year, here are a few photos. Students in 6th grade chose a word that is important to them. It could be an affinity, their name, or a character trait. They illustrated that word by designing their of own font, and adding imagery to illustrated the word. They used crayon and colored pencil techniques after they outlined with Sharpie marker. These illustrations will be sent to Square 1 Art.
Fifth graders used on of their initials and multiple interests to create an illuminated letter for Square 1 art this year. http://www.illuminatedpage.com/history.html
Third graders learned about the correct proportions of the face and created a collage for Square 1 Art.
Second graders cut out and layered butterflies on top of each other to create a collage inspired by Molas. The project will be sent to the Square 1 Art fundraiser.
Students drew rows of petals, outlined in sharpie, and used Mr. Sketch markers to color flowers close-up. The project will be sent to Square 1 Art for our fundraiser.
Students drew horizontal and vertical lines, and then cut out a triangle to create a waffle cone. Then they chose a color/flavor and made a hand print.
