Fourth grade created an abstract winter portrait using mostly straight lines and marker techniques or watercolor pencils. There is a lot going on in the art room this week! We have been painting reindeer, designing a holiday stamp, and learning some origami. I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing break! See you next year!
4th graders used what the learned about human proportions to draw a scarecrow. They used woodless colored pencil sticks and regular colored pencils after they outlined their drawing.
4th graders imagined they were on a ship discovering a new land. They used techniques to show depth in order to illustrate what they would see through the porthole.
4th graders learned about Georgia O'Keefe and Pablo Picasso. Both of these artists are famous for abstract art. Students learned how to multiply, melt, simplify, fragment, magnify, distort, rearrange, and spiral a pumpkin to make it look abstract.
Happy Halloween! Students practiced writing their name in cursive to create a symmetrical skeleton body. |
